Session 83: “Un Homme Qui Dort” by Georges Perec & Bernard Queysanne

To acknowledge the 30th anniversary of Georges Perec’s death, Philip Matesic screened the 1974 film “Un Homme Qui Dort” (A Man Asleep), directed by Georges Perec & Bernard Queysanne. “Un Homme Qui Dort” is based on the 1967 novel by Perec.
Georges Perec was an influential French writer, most well know for his books “Things: A Story of the Sixties” (1965), “Life A User’s Manual” (1978) and other more experimental forms of writing collected in “Species of Spaces” (1974). He was also a member of OuLiPo Group (L’ Ouvroir de Littérature Potentielle). Georges Perec died at the age of 45 on March 3, 1982.
