Theory Tuesdays

Theory Tuesdays is a nonacademic platform for theoretical discussion founded, organized and coordinated by artist Philip Matesic since 2009 in Zürich, Switzerland. Participants read beforehand then discuss contemporary art, design, literary, cultural and critical theory on a weekly basis, with texts selected and introduced each week by a different person.

Session 45: “Commons-Based Peer Production” with Elizeu Santos-Neto (BR)

This Theory Tuesdays session focused on examples of “commons-based peer production”, their common characteristics, and how (and why it is important) to assess the value of individual contributions. Commons-based peer production systems, or social production systems, are a result of the de-centralized collaboration of individuals, who produce non-proprietary goods.
